Weekly Diary: bathtubs, books and more...

Oh my goodness, I love this gold vessel hammock bath tub!
This hammock style bathtub is suspended from the wall and doesn't touch the floor. It is beyond luxurious to soak yourself in this gold-coated bath tub and it is also high in comfort as it spreads out longer than a regular bathtub. Wow, how unreal!

And this is another bathtub that I LOVE! This one is cut out of a large single piece of Quartz Crystal. So fancy! ^^

I love this beautiful vase!

I love this pretty colour...

I love these illustrations about the truth of having long hair. So funny and accurate :))

I love reading and these comparison between books and relationships are adorable and so true <3

Here are some creative ideas for your next bookmarks ;)

I love this quote about reading:
"Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is an escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss."
- Nora Ephron

I love these advices:
"The best advice I've ever received is, 'No one else knows what they're doing either.'"
- Ricky Gervais

"Self-love is a good thing but self-awareness is more important. You need to once in a while go 'Uh, I'm kind of an asshole.'"

Some more quotes that I love:

"Best not to mix the past with the present. The present paints the past with gold. The past paints the present with lead."
- Henry Rollins

"There is no favor better than one you never had to ask for; and no gift better than one you didn't expect."
- William Chapman

"Get excited about the little things. About wearing a new outfit for the first time. About Sunday brunches with your best friends. About the new cute guy in your class. About finding an extra dollar in your pocket. About anything that even remotely makes you happy because as you grow up, passions fade and enthusiasm gets mistaken for foolishness. So don't let the grey world stop you from shining."

Well, that's it for today. Until next time! :D

First weekly diary of 2015

This is my first weekly diary post of 2015 (Hooray!). My weekly diary posts consist of things that I like each week (pictures, quotes, something artistic, something funny, other amazing stuffs that I like) , although I don't really update them every week #guilty. Hehe. So here it goes:

I love this journal/diary. Love the words at the front :)

I love this mother (Angie) and daughter (Mayhem) who often re-create award show dresses or character costumes out of items like construction paper, feathers, aluminium foil, tissue paper, gift wrap and plenty of glue and tape. Angie, who is a professional photographer said that Mayhem is very creative and they split the work 50-50. How adorable is Mayhem and the little dresses and all these photos? Mayhem definitely has a better wardrobe than me! #sojealous

I love these brilliant packaging designs!!

I love this diagram to help understand neurotransmitters and their functions in our bodies.

I read this description of introvert from http://alberteinsteinofficial.tumblr.com/post/50377362897/what-an-introvert-is-someone-who-gets-their which totally describe my personality.
Introvert is someone who gets their energy from being alone and can get exhausted from being around people for extended periods of time. What an introvert isn't: low self esteem, hatred of people, and social awkwardness. This is so me!
On the other hand, extrovert is someone who gets their energy from being around others and can get drained from being alone for extended periods of time. What an extrovert isn't: obnoxious party animal, social butterfly and easily makes friends/not shy. So which one of the two are you?

I love this 'Historically Accurate Disney Princesses' video.
This video shows what Snow White, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Aurora, and Tiana would have actually looked like if they were historically accurate. This is such a well-thought, well-researched and well-made video. As a big fan of Disney movies and its princesses, I am so amazed <3

These are some quotes that I love this week:

"It's messing people up, this social pressure to 'find your passion' and 'know what it is you want to do'. It's perfectly fine to just live your moments fully, and marvel as many small and large passions, many small and large purposes enter and leave your life. For many people there is no realisation, no bliss to follow, no discovery of your life's purposes. This isn't sad, it's just the way things are. Stop trying to find the forest and just enjoy the trees."
- Sally Coulter

When someone does something wrong, don't forget all the things they did right.

"If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together."
- African proverb

"When thinking about life, remember this: no amount of guilt can change the past, and no amount of anxiety can change the future."

Until next week x

“Open a book this minute and start reading. Don’t move until you’ve reached page fifty. Until you’ve buried your thoughts in print. Cover yourself with words. Wash yourself away. Dissolve.”

My funny weekly diary :))

Oh... I love this cartoons about condoms. So clever and funny! :D

And this one, about supermarket dairy section, is funny too :)

In the past, I rarely ordered a japanese omelette in a sushi restaurant until I saw this video. It looks so cool that now I have to order one everytime :)

Still about sushi, I love this sushi eating guide :)

Let's go back to be being funny :))

I love whoever operates Taco Bell's social media!

Love the sauce packages! :D

I love these jokes:

Operator: 911 What's your emergency?
Responder: My wife's going into labor. I don't know what to do.
Operator: Is this her first born?
Responder: No, this is her husband.

Why do fish live in salt water?
Because pepper makes them sneeze.

Why did the banana have to go to the hospital?
Because it wasn't peeling very well!!

:D

I also asked my friend Siri for some jokes :))

hahaha :D

So enough being a goofball, this week I saw 2 amazing films! One of them is 'Lola, la pelicula' which is a historical biopic of renowned flamenco singer and dancer Lola Flores. The movie describes her early life, starting in 1931 until 1958, when she gave birth to her first child. The movie is so lush and beautiful, full of enchanting flamenco music and dancing and has plenty of passionate love affairs. I love what the women wore in that era, the dresses are so sexy yet in a feminine way. I thoroughly enjoy this film and only wish it is longer. I want to know what happens to Lola after 1958, she is such an incredible artist and what an intriguing woman.

The other film is 'The Page Turner' which is a fabulous psychological thriller about a young gifted pianist who got distracted by the president of the jury's attitude in her free piano tuition's audition and failed. Years later, she seeks revenge by becoming the jury's page turner for her concert. The director and co-screenwriter, Denis Dercourt is himself an accomplished classical musician and part of the reason I love this film is because it is set in a musical world and I just adore the beautiful music throughout the film. The two main actresses were outstanding and I also love how the plot is actually rather simple, yet it is done very well and I could feel myself at the edge of my seat. The movie is not long, but a very satisfying one ;)

I love this quote:

"If you are insecure, guess what? The rest of the world is, too. Do not overestimate the competition and underestimate yourself. You are better than you think."
- T. Harv Eker

May your day be as wonderful as my first (big) sip of coffee! Until next time :) x

HAPPY SATURDAY!

I love these Evian dancing babies ad! Isn't this the cutest ad ever?

This week, I saw 4 great movies. I love all of them:

AIRDOLL (Japan)

This movie tells a story of a Japanese sex doll who comes alive one day and how it/she reacts to life. She finds a day job at a video store, discovers human life, develops a heart and falls in love. The whole idea might sound strange, but for the open-minded, the story told is actually so wonderfully thoughtful, sweet, and the cinematography is so gorgeous. The cinematographer is Ping Bin Lee, who is known for his work on the beautiful Wong Kar Wai movie 'In the mood for love' and the idea of this movie is from a short manga by Yoshiie Goudais. This movie is not just about sex or a sex doll, but about human loneliness and emptiness in general, and also about the everyday beauty and wonder of life that we often forget. I really love this movie.

RECONSTRUCTION (Denmark)

This Danish movie is quite strange at first but because it has such a mesmerizing style that I ended up loving all the strangeness of it. I haven't felt this way since watching Wong Kar Wai movies, which I also love because of the feel of all his movies (the cinematography, background music, characters) more than the actual movie plots itself. This psychological romantic drama film is engaging, unusual and also at the same time, romantic. I feel for the affair of Alex and Aimee. It almost reminds me of those deep love affairs that I had that I can just forget a month/ a year after. Was all of it real? I don't 100% 'get' this movie but I think that's the beauty of this movie and (this is going to sound strange) but I love how it leaves me feeling confused and makes me think and feel.

THE SWIMSUIT ISSUE (Sweden)

Ohh! This is such a hilarious movie! This Swedish movie is about a group of everyday almost middle-aged men who come together to form the only Swedish all-male synchronized swimming team. The movie has a lot of heart and is so much fun!!

THE VALET (France)

I love French romantic comedies and this charming and funny movie is one of the best I've seen so far! The perfect girls-night-in movie!

I'm loving this pasta shapes comic by Gemma Correll! I LOVE pasta ^^

I love this 'How to be happy' tips from http://www.thebeautyofwordsblog.com

I love these quotes:

"The best index to a person's character is how he treats people who can't do him any good, and how he treats people who can't fight back"
- Abigail Van Buren

"I've known people that the world has thrown everything at to discourage them...to break their spirit. And yet something about them retains a dignity. They face life and don't ask quarters."
- Horton Foote

"Every man is a damn fool for at least five minutes every day; wisdom consists in not exceeding the limit."

and these:

"Usually when people are sad, they don't do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change."
- Malcolm X

"... but it already seems pretty obvious that the world is divided into two groups: the doers and the watchers. The people things happen to and the rest of us who just sort of plod on with things."
- Gayle Forman, Just One Day

"Every morning we get a chance to be different. A chance to change. A chance to be better. Your past is your past. Leave it there. Get on with the future part."
