10+1 things I Love this week: Films, Tropfest, Joshua Gates, and more

1. I LOVE inspirational words and especially when it is hand written in 2 different colours and has drawings in it :)

2. I LOVE a great film. I just saw 'Just another love story' and it blows my mind and at the same time, touches my heart deeply. It is a story about Jonas, a man who feels responsible for the car accident that put a young woman in a coma. He visits her in a hospital, pretends to be her boyfriend Sebastian and falls in love with her. She then regains consciousness but lose most of her memory and most of her vision. If you want to know what comes next, you have to watch the movie! This fantasy-like romantic thriller movie is amazingly made and edited. Narrative at the beginning, flash backs/forwards, slow motion incidents, dream sequences and unexpected surprises. I started watching what I thought was a normal love story (I was hoping for a light romantic comedy), and then the story gets darker and darker and then suddenly I'm on the edge of my seat. How did that happen? I love how the love story in the movie moves me, plays with my emotion and yet the twists throughout scares the &%$* out of me. I love the different love scenes in the beginning. If you see this movie, you absolutely can not miss the beginning! I feel sad for Jonas. One of his lines in the movie, "I'd dreamt of being a photographer since I was 14. I wanted to photograph the beauty of the world. Fly in a helicopter and photograph the landscape below. Not dead children." (He works as a crime photographer).
About his love for Julia, "I knew nothing about her. But I came to love her passionately. That's how you loved Julia. Like in a movie. Dramatic, intense and excessive. A sudden meeting, an insane moment. And the world as you know it...vanishes."
One of my favourite lines from the movie, "Maybe the setting was false. But the emotion was real."
This movie was nominated for Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival.

3. I LOVE these two Tropfest short films. 'Revive' is so beautiful and touching and I can see why it received People Choice Award while 'Bamboozled' (the 1st prize winner) is the opposite, it is funny and it took me by surprise. I love both films equally, in different ways. I haven't seen many short films in the past (I wonder why?), I love these two so much that I'm going to watch more short films in the future. Recommendation anyone? :)

Revive.
Directed by Ruben Pracas.
Synopsis: A young businessman decides to take it upon himself to be the change he wishes to see in the world - one crazy costume at a time.

Bamboozled.
Directed by Matt Hardie
Synopsis: No matter what changes, love is forever.

4. I LOVE this '8 things to do every day that will make you happier' by Paulo Coelho.
1.Thank someone. First thing in the morning, send an email thanking or praising someone.
2. Spend money -- on someone else.
3. Give 5 hugs. The hugs had to be front-to-front (nonsexual) hugs, using both arms of both participants. The participants had to aim to hug as many different individuals as possible (not the same person 5 times)
4. Do stuff you're good at. Deliberately exercise your signature strengths (those qualities that you are uniquely best at and the talents that set you apart from others) on a daily basis.
5. Do 5 little nice things for others. If you want to reap the psychological benefit, make sure you do these things deliberately and consciously, not just look back the last 24 hours and declare your act.
6. Create something to look forward to. Often, the most enjoyable part of an activity is the anticipation. Plan a holiday, then whenever you need a boost of happiness, remind yourself about it.
7. Spend time with friends. Get together regularly to have a catch up lunch/ dinner, etc.
8. Before bed, write down three good things that happened today. It is important that you have a physical record of what you wrote (journal, computer, etc).

5. I LOVE this art about modern art. Yes I could probably do that (as it requires only typing not drawing) but I didn't, did I? :p

6. I LOVE this cup. Do Nut Worry because there are always donuts :)

7. I LOVE how some true love never get old :)

8. I LOVE this Joshua Gates guy. He is soooo funny and OmG the review he wrote for Amazon at the end! ROFL :D

9. Haha this is funny! :)

10. I want this USB powered Mini Fridge. Please somebody, anybody? buy me this for Christmas ;)

11. I LOVE a good yogurt. This one is amazing! Silky smooth and doesn't taste anything artificial or too sweet. Just divine :p

I LOVE these quotes :

"A professional is someone who can do his best work when he doesn't feel like it."
- Alistair Cooke

"Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced -- even a Proverb is no proverb to you till your Life has illustrated it."
- John Keats

"Deep breathing brings deep thinking and shallow breathing shallow thinking."
- L Elsie Benedict

Expect nothing, appreciate everything...

Until next week xo.....
